During Urological practice of 25 years, he felt to establish a state of the art kidney institute which was very much required for community of the Saurashtra region. Therefore he took up a magnificiant project of $2 million as Managing Trustee. He left private surgical practice and devoted full time services for this project. This mega project for kidney ailments, in 3 acres land, 125000 sq ft building, with 5 operation theatres, 18 dialysis machines and fully equipped laboratory. Yearly 15000 dialysis and 3000 operations are performed at discounted rates. Generous donation of Mr. B.T. Savani family, untiring efforts of team of trustees, dedicated doctors and committed hospital staff made the project a great success.
Over last Ten years hospital has provided services for 1,51,004 OPD Patients; 31,441 IPD; 28,875 Surgeries; 1,82,039 Dialysis; 93,356 Free Dialysis (60% total free); and medical relief of Rs 8,26,87,572 (>1.5 millin $).
Since its inception, BTSK has organized 78 free Uro-Nephrological camps and have served 10728 patients, all at no cost. BTSK is best known for the Mega-surgical camps (Maha Yagna) , the hospital treats hundreds of patients for free in only a few days. It is the spirit of service, rather than the high-performance metrics, that define BTSK. During Mega free camps they 2032 patients were examined ,investigated and 538 operations were done for free.
Have done commendable work during the disastrous earthquake in January-2000 in Gujarat, lead teams of doctors and volunteers for medical relief which was recognised by Hon Governor of Gujarat.
He was pioneer to establish the center for meditation in 20 acres where regular camps are conducted for 10 days with free lodging and boarding and teaching for Art of Living
He established the urology department in Civil (government) Hospital (250 beds) Rajkot, Gujarat, India and served as honorary Urologist from 1981 until 1988.
